Ken Baechel, President of CAN; John Hodgens, National Sales Manager; and Mark Guidetti, Operations Manager, were online from their headquarters in Albany, NY. Ken Baechel detailed the history of CAN, John Hodgens shared CAN's experience at the Los Alamos fires in May 2000, and Mark Guidetti discussed features of the warning system. The Community Alert Network is a leader in Emergency Notification Service in the U. S. and Canada and boasts a unique computer-driven, telephone-warning and personnel-recall service used by many communities and companies. |
KENNETH BAECHEL Ken was born and raised in Ohio and received his B.A. from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. This entrepreneur is an active Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church and his credentials include Chaplain for NCCEM and Member of the NCCEM Board. Ken served in the Army's celebrated Green Berets. Ken's military career included special medical training, jungle survival training and over 35 parachute jumps. Ken then spent more than ten years as a successful insurance agent with MONY before joining his family's insurance business in 1979. He is a member of many emergency management organizations and is published in several "Who's Who"books. He is a member of the Executive Board for the National Institute of Urban Search and Rescue and serves on several task forces at the national and international level. Ken is a frequent presenter before emergency management groups throughout the United States and Canada, often providing panels/workshops about "A comprehensive approach to emergency notification." Ken founded Community Alert Network, Inc., in 1984. The father of three children, he is a strong family man residing in Schenectady, New York, with his wife, Ann. JOHN HODGENS Born just south of Boston, MA. in the Dorchester area, John is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Boston. His professional background has been with Rockwell International in their Stationary Power Tool Division as well as several years in the communications industry. John's combined experience in technical sales and communications make him ideally suited for the CAN team. He was the winner of the New City Communications prestigious annual "Game Changer of the Year" award. John and his wife Kristie are busy raising a beautiful family of four children. * * * * |
MARK GUIDETTI As Operations Manager, Mark is responsible for the short and long term activities of the CAN Operations Department. This includes flawless client activations, proper computer systems operations, research and development of new technologies, quality control of Mark served as an NCO in the U.S. Army, specializing in Nuclear Weapons Electronics, at Redstone Arsenal, AL, Sandia Base, NM, and in Germany. After his military service, Mark worked for GE's Heavey Military Electronic Systems in Syracuse, NY and for Machinery Mark is married to Carolyn, as of this writing for 32 years. he has two children, Maria and Mark, Jr. and two grandchildren Joshua and Anthony. * * * * |
