SUSAN MOORE
Program Manager

Susan Moore, Program Manager for Project SAFECOM, moved to FEMA effective October 1, 2002 from U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) headquarters where she specialized in Telecommunications policy for Office of the Chief Information Officer.

Ms. Moore has 20 years experience in information technology and telecommunications management in private industry as well as the Federal Government. Her work in Public Safety communications includes multiple consulting roles in nationwide radio programs supporting the Treasury/Justice Public Safety Wireless Network (PSWN) Program, the Department of Justice, Justice Wireless Network (JWN, now IWN) and the National Distress and Response System (NDRS, now Rescue 21).

Prior to work in the Federal Government, Susan held positions as a Director for CACI and Technical Operations Manager for Mobile Telecommunication's (MTEL) Government Division in Washington, DC. While at MTEL, Ms. Moore served as a chair and co-chair of multiple working groups for the Public Safety Wireless Advisory Committee providing testimony, research and reports to the Federal Communications Commission and the National Telecommunications and Industry Administration on wireless technologies.

Her early background includes ten years of computer experience at Texas Instruments and Control Data Corporation. For the past three years, Ms. Moore has served as a corporate sponsor to the Johns Hopkins Information Technology and Telecommunications graduate program providing case studies and guidance to Capstone students earning Masters of Science degrees.
