BARBARA S. YAGERMAN
Barbara S. Yagerman is an Associate Director of Operations and Response for the headquarters Operations Integration Staff of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Prior to her current position, Ms. Yagerman served as a Senior Program Specialist with the Response Division Planning Section of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), which is now part of DHS. Ms. Yagerman currently is responsible for working on the development, interagency coordination, and implementation of the National Response Plan.
During her tenure in the FEMA Response Division she was responsible for issues relating to the Federal Response Plan, terrorism, bio-terrorism and catastrophic disaster response planning. She served as FEMA representative on the DHS-White House National Response Plan (NRP), National Incident Management (NIMS) Writing Team, the Planning Oversight Group for Operation Vigilant Sentry mass migration planning effort, the Liberty Shield national contingency planning effort, and other senior level counter-terrorism and natural disaster emergency management planning efforts. She also served as FEMA liaison to the DHS Interagency Incident Management Group (IIMG), FBI Strategic Information and Operations Centers (SIOC) during activation for disasters, emergencies, exercises, National Security Special Events or terrorist attacks.
