ERIK AUF der HEIDE

Dr. Auf der Heide (Pronounced: "Awf dair Hyda") has served as a Medical Officer for the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Atlanta, Georgia, since 1998. Prior to becoming involved in public health, Dr. Auf der Heide, practiced clinical emergency medicine for 18 years.

Education:

  • Doctor of Medicine degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas.
  • Residency in emergency medicine at Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio.
  • Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
  • Graduate of Fellowship in disaster medicine co-sponsored by the Division of Emergency Medicine at Emory University School of medicine; the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University; and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
  • Masters Degree in Public Health with specialization in epidemiology, Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
