Electrical power as well as communications, water, wastewater, and gas utilities are generally key to most operations. Once the analysis is complete, then available resources should be allocated on a priority basis. |
ROBERT A. DYKES
An engineer and management consultant with over 30 years of experience in the chemical, defense, and aerospace industries. As the Director of Operations he has been responsible for implementing our risk-based approach to the Year 2000 embedded systems analysis and solution. He designed the top-down system approach that allows management to focus on those systems that will be immediately affected by a Y2K failure and the methodology to correct identified problems in a cost-effective manner. He is the Program Manager for a Y2K project that involves ensuring continuous operations at a large commercial facility. Additionally he is a team leader for Y2K project involving commercial electric power generation. He is also a Y2K auditor for the State of Washington, verifying the quality of several agencies preparedness to meet their Y2K responsibilities. Mr. Dykes' other related experiences include being a team member of an oversight team at a nuclear fuels chemical processing facility responsible for providing management an independent assessment of plant chemical and radiological safety. Specific responsibilities included extensive facility walkdowns, documenting potential problem areas, and reporting the results with recommended solutions to all levels of plant management. Developed a procedure improvement program to ensure operating procedures were well organized, functional, and met regulatory requirements. Major contributor to several oil refinery Risk Management and Prevention Programs for compliance with California state regulations, OSHA Preventive Safety Management Program, 29 CFR Part 1910, and the EPA Process Safety Management Program. Performed process safety management program audits for oil refineries. Pointed out several major potential problem areas concerning routine plant maintenance and lockout/tagout programs. Project manager for a major Air Force missile weapons system responsible for developing risk and reliability assessments. Has extensive experience in the assessment, execution, and supervision of complex systems in a hazardous environment. * * * * |
THOMAS ROCHE
Mr. Roche has extensive experience in the design, engineering, startup and analysis of systems and equipment at power, process, and industrial facilities. His focus is risk management associated with natural phenomena, equipment and system reliability, and human factors. He is currently Project Manager for risk management and remediation programs associated with the Year 2000 issue for facilities in the water, wastewater, nuclear energy, and transportation industries. He is Department Manager for EQE Risk Consultants and a licensed Mechanical Engineer with the State of California. * * * * |
